Pool Rules

Health & Safety

Persons having or reasonably suspected to have any considerable area of exposed sub-epidermal tissue, cuts, or known or recognizable contagious or communicable diseases, cough, cold, open sore, blisters, bandaged wound, fever, inflammation of the eyes, nasal or ear discharges, shall not be allowed to enter the pool water.

Spitting, urinating, blowing of the nose, spouting of water or deposit of foreign matter in a pool shall be strictly prohibited.

Bottles, crockery, glassware, or other hazardous objects shall not be permitted within the pool fence area, pool room, bathhouse facilities, or in the swimming pool or on the deck area.

No children under the age of 16 allowed in the pool area without adult supervision.

No person shall bring or throw into the pool, or its floors, walkways, aisles, or dressing rooms, any object that may in any way carry contamination or endanger the safety of any bather.

No running, boisterous, or rough play, (except supervised water sports) is permitted in pool, dressing rooms, shower rooms, or on walkways.

Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall be prohibited from entering the pool.

Unsupervised solo bathing shall be strictly prohibited.

Consumption of food or beverages and use of tobacco products shall not be permitted in the swimming pool or on the deck area.

All animals with exception of guide animals for the handicap shall be prohibited within the pool fence, pool room or bathhouse facilities.

Use of pool shall be prohibited during severe weather conditions, i.e.. electrical storms, tornadoes, etc..

No diving is permitted off the deck into shallow areas of the pool.

Please shower prior to entering the pools or spa.

Open Swim

An adult must check swimmers in with a lifeguard at the outdoor swim area.

Youth over 16 years of age may access the pool area without an adult.

All youth under the age of 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times on deck.

All youth over 8 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times on the deck.

All youth over 8 years of age must be supervised by an adult at all times unless they have passed the “Life Guard Swim Test.”

An adult must be present at the summit athletic club if their youth are at the pool area per the summit athletic club policy.

No dropping off youth at the front door of summit athletic club for open swim.

Youth must be picked yp at the pool area promptly at the close of posted open swim time. You will not be allowed to enter the main athletic club area without an adult escort if under the age of 16 years.

Floating rings, arm floaties, life jackets, etc., should not be considered life saving devices for youth to be left unsupervised in the pool area. Youth must be supervised at all times by an adult when in the pool area.

The “Lifeguard Safety Swim Test” will be administered by the lifeguards. See posted times.

Youth in diapers must wear “water huggies” or a similar swim diaper brand at all times when using pools. (May be purchased in Summit Sports Shop).

There is no lifeguard on duty at the indoor pool facility and spa. Youth under 16 years of age will not be allowed to enter the indoor pool/spa area without an adult.

There are no outside bathroom facilities available. No youth may enter the indoor bathroom facilities without an adult.

All indoor/outdoor pool patrons must completely dry off before entering the indoor main body of the club. Appropriate attire: as defined by the management must be worn when entering the indoor main athletic club area.

No glass containers or gum allowed in pool area.

Concession stand-will be open during posted times.

The safety of all summit athletic club patrons is our main concern. The result of noncompliance with these and other pool guidelines may result in the loss of swimming privileges at the summit athletic club.

Lap Swim

Please do not hang on lane ropes

Swimmers must share lanes and are expected to circle swim. Lifeguards will help make lane adjustments to accommodate everyone.

When circle swimming – let other swimmers know upon entering the pool that you are sharing the lane as to avoid collisions. Always swim on the right side of the lane.

When passing, wait and pass at the wall. Tap the foot of the swimmer ahead of you indicating you wish to pass. Wait and pass at the wall to avoid collisions.

When resting on the wall, please move to the outward corners of the lane to allow other swimmers room to easily turn at the wall.
